1000gu Single angle Glossmeter NHG60 Intelligent Gloss Meter with large touchscreen
Gloss is measured by measuring the reflectance of a material on the incident light beam. The measurement of the reflectance should be done with the following rule: angle of incidence is angle of reflection.
Gloss is highly dependent on the angle at which the material is viewed. If have an observer perpendicular to an object can hardly looks luster, but when he looks almost parallel to the material, there may be a gloss observed.
When measuring the gloss, it is therefore important that the angle has been standardized. Typical angles are 20 °, 60 ° and 85 °. For a high gloss, the gloss is generally by 20 °, resulting in lower gloss measured at 60 °. Matte materials are measured at 85 °.
